Fan on or off ???
Sleeping with a fan on is the norm for us. It provides a lovely and comfortable sleep, free from any kind of sounds happening anywhere out of our room....which is quite a lot.
But, sometimes I like to turn it off or at least on low, allowing me to be aware of every single happening outside our window on Jones street. A simple reminder to us that just because we have gone safely to bed in our comfortable room, doesnt mean that the rest of our community has done the same. In fact, its often worse once we have gone to bed. The things we sometimes hear at night are basically horrifying.
Last night with the fan set to low, we were awakened by a drive by shooting right outside our building. We have an active strip club next door to us, and at 3 a.m while the sidewalk was flooded with people in line to get in/out/just hanging out, we heard the sounds of chaos.
Gun shots...to screams....to mass chaos....to confusion...to sirens...to numerous police yelling and holding the biggest guns ive ever seen a cop carry. They looked like they were going to war.
We ran to the window and watched pure chaos take place right below us.
It was like a movie. Thats the only way i can describe it.
This is why we sleep with a fan on. And this is also why we sometimes sleep with the fan turned off.
